Not every masterpiece uses the same colours.
Neither does every child.
About us
Welcome to The Cortex Collective.
Where every mind is understood, every child belongs, and every journey matters
At The Cortex Collective,
we believe that every child deserves to be seen, understood, and given the opportunity to thrive.
No two children learn, develop, or experience the world in the same way. That's why we take the time to understand each child's unique strengths, challenges, interests, and potential. Whether your child is neurodivergent, has a developmental delay, a diagnosed disability, or simply needs additional support, you'll find a place where they are welcomed with compassion, respected for who they are, and encouraged to grow with confidence.
Our multidisciplinary approach brings together experienced facilitators and collaborating specialists to provide holistic, individualised support across every area of development. We focus on building the foundational skills that allow children to become more independent, confident, and engaged in everyday life—whether that's communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning, motor development, social interaction, learning, or daily living skills.
Our Day Program
Our Day Program is built on a whole-brain approach, supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, communication, and social development of each child. We provide a nurturing and structured environment where children of all abilities can participate, learn, and develop at their own pace.
Our program focuses on key developmental areas through specialised sessions:
Limbic Link – Supporting emotional regulation, social connection, confidence, and the development of coping strategies.
KineticKlub – Developing gross and fine motor skills through movement, coordination activities, sensory-motor experiences, and functional play.
Frontal Lab – Strengthening executive functioning skills such as attention, problem-solving, memory, flexibility, and learning readiness.
AAC Hub (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) – Supporting children with complex communication needs by developing functional communication skills and providing access to alternative communication methods.
Throughout the day, children take part in structured learning experiences, sensory activities, play-based development, functional life skills, and individualised support sessions. Our approach focuses on meeting each child where they are, identifying their strengths, and supporting their areas of development.
We work closely with families to ensure that every child receives consistent support and that parents feel guided throughout their child’s developmental journey.

ON THE DAILY
How Our Sessions Work
Group time outdoors — children start their day together, supervised by our facilitators, building peer connection through play and movement
One-on-one focus sessions — each child rotates through individual time with a dedicated facilitator throughout the day, guided by a visual timer they can follow themselves
An Individual Developmental Plan for every child — built around a thorough assessment of their needs, including primitive reflex assessments, so their plan reflects what they specifically need to thrive
Stay connected, always — photos and progress updates sent straight to you through our app, so you're never left wondering how your child's day went
Health, covered — our on-board doctor visits regularly for checkups, and we collaborate with external therapists who work directly with children on-site as part of their ongoing care
Optional add-ons — families can also enhance their child's day with our food, swimming, music, and dance programs, tailored to further support development and enjoyment beyond the core day.
Other Services
-

Understanding Diagnosis
Guidance for families adjusting to a new or complex diagnosis. We provide clear explanations, resources, and strategies to help parents understand their child’s needs, advocate effectively, and plan for the future with confidence.
-

Adult Support Sessions
Each afternoon, we run dedicated support sessions for adults with disabilities — building the foundation, experience, and community we need to one day open a center designed just for them. These sessions are as much about growing our capacity to serve this community well as they are about the individuals we support today, every session bringing us one step closer to that future space.
-

Caregiver Training
Comprehensive training programs that equip caregivers with the skills, techniques, and confidence to provide compassionate, effective care. We focus on practical strategies, developmental understanding, and building supportive routines.
-

Remedial Support Sessions
Our afternoon remedial sessions offer children with learning differences the individualized instruction and support they don't always get in a typical classroom. Working in small, focused settings, we meet each child where they are — building skills, confidence, and a genuine love of learning at their own pace.
